Behind The Seams:
The Story of Our Wisteria Print
With every new season, we seek out the kind of beauty that doesn’t just spin heads but lingers in the mind like a core memory. For Resort SS25, we looked into a bloom that’s steeped in its storytelling and softness – the Wisteria Vine. Its cascading tendrils and delicate shades have long captured the hearts of designers, artists and poets alike, so for this collection, we’ve reimagined its fleeting elegance into a print that flows across silhouettes, just as the bloom would itself – whether draping from a sun-drenched balcony or climbing the walls of a poolside near you.
A Floral Legacy
The Origin of Wisteria
Native to East Asia, Wisteria first flourished in Japan and China, where its beauty was revered in sacred texts and ancient gardens. Symbolizing longevity, love and new beginnings, the elegantly long vine became more than just ornamental, it was spiritual. Japanese folklore will link the Wisteria to tales of devotion and patience due to its slow-growing roots and dramatic bloom – encapsulating strength. In Chinese tradition, it represents enduring affection and honor and is often planted in palaces and temples.
As the Wisteria made her way west, she became a muse in romantic literature and 19th-century design, trailing across wallpapers, fine embroidery, and oil paintings. Today, the flower is a demonstration of wistful elegance, soft yet striking and refined yet wild. This vision is captured in the core of Resort SS25.
